Next week, two SKLZ team members will be riding 620 miles down the California coast to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). In case you aren’t familiar with this cause, CAF’s mission is to make sure people with physical challenges have the same freedom to enjoy sports as everyone else – they do this through grants for adaptive sports equipment. http://www.challengedathletes.org
SKLZ knows what it means to be an athlete and all the advantages sport has on people. It couldn’t be a better fit.
That is why for the last 5 years we have supported two SKLZ employees/athletes in their journey down the coast. They ride along with other fundraisers and challenged athletes who have benefitted from the cause themselves. Each year we greet all of these riders at the finish line at Kellogg Park in La Jolla, CA. The magic of this event is that this is also the start of CAF’s San Diego Triathlon Weekend where CAF athletes all around the world meet up for running clinics and the SDTC. The ride in is also their welcome picnic.
We'll be documenting their progress for the next week here on the blog so stay tuned for updates from the road and finish line.
