September 13, 2010
Los Angeles, CA - Athletes' Performance is proud to announce that Travelle Gaines, founder of Performance Gaines, has joined the team at Athletes' Performance's California facility, located at the Home Depot Center. In his new role, Gaines will serve as the Director of Elite Athlete Development, focusing on football and other elite sports.
This brings one of the most well-known and respected strength and conditioning coaches of NFL and NBA stars to the recognized world leader in integrated performance training. Gaines joins an NFL Combine Preparation team that has successfully prepared the last five #1 NFL Draft picks, including 2010 top pick Sam Bradford and 39 players selected in the 2010 Draft. Since launching Performance Gaines in 2007, Travelle has worked with more than 100 professional athletes, including NFL first round draft picks, Pro Bowlers, and MVP's, as well as NBA All-Stars.
Travelle has worked with superstar athletes including Reggie Bush, Chris Johnson, Brandon Roy, Jon Beason, Bob Sanders, and Matt Leinart, and has been featured on ESPN, the NFL Network, Fox Sports, and in Sporting News. In addition to leading work in NFL Combine preparation, in 2010 alone, Athletes' Performance trained five of the MLB All-Stars, three of the final 16 teams in the World Cup, leading draft picks in the NBA and NHL drafts, and thousands of leading elite athletes globally.
"We're very excited to have Travelle's hard work and training experience become a part of our team," said Athletes' Performance founder Mark Verstegen. "Travelle's reputation as a leader, innovator, and motivator precede him, particularly with NFL and NBA athletes, and we know he'll have an immediate impact on our team as we prepare athletes for success on and off the field each day."
"I'm very excited to be joining the Athletes Performance team," said Gaines. "I've always had so much respect for what Mark Verstegen and Athletes' Performance have built and accomplished over the years. My goal is to help continue the excellent tradition of Athletes' Performance by bringing hard work, passion, and integrity to the team every day."
