Although in a perpetual state of anxiety, the pressure of the event finally took its toll on my consciensness. Thus, I was able to get some sleep Thursday night before the flight to San Francisco. I had a pleasant visit with my girls, who lovingly encouraged me to do my best. As only a dad can know, I sensed they feared their "old dad" would over do it physically and either hurt himself or keel over!  I, of course, reassured them I'd be fine.

The airport was extremely crowded this morning. Apparently, there are several fundraising events this weekend in San Francisco.  The morning is overcast with a heavy marine layer.  My hope is we'll get this type of weather down the coast!  Nice and cool. Several of the riders are on the same flight with John and I, which makes the flight that more exciting and enjoyable. I'm looking forward to today's events. Until then ...
