The Night Before the Million Dollar Challenge Ride

October 14, 2011

SKLZ is proud to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation and their Million Dollar Challenge bike ride to raise funds for athletes with physical disadvantages. This year SKLZ has two riders that will be participating in the ride, CEO John Sarkisian and VP of Sales Mike Carlson. Tonight, John, Mike and all participating riders met up to get to know each other a little more before embarking on their adventure.

Robin WilliamsThe riders made their way into the hotel, greeting old friends and introducing themselves to new ones. Guests included former NBA player Bill Walton and dozens of other athletes. Robin Williams even made a special appearance to wish them luck on the ride (he is a long time supporter of the Challenged Athletes Foundation).

Yet, of all the faces in the crowd, the ones that stood out were those of the challenged athletes. These individuals understand what it means to be a true athlete, to have a goal and train until you have reached it. These athletes know what hard work is and understand that if you set your mind to something you can do it. Thirteen challenged athletes, six of whom are hand cyclists, will embark on the 620-mile journey tomorrow.

Get to know one of these amazing challenged athletes, David Lee, a little better. He is an amazing person and is definitely one of the athletes on this ride who will be teaching others.
