Meet SKLZ Summer Interns!
Meet Mitchell Woolpert
Senior at the University of San Diego, studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance
Sports Background:
I was a walk-on on the University of San Diego's division 1 men's basketball team and played for three years.
Highlight of Sporting Career:
I have been a part of a lot of good teams but beating Saint Mary's at home when they were ranked 24 in the country would probably have to be the most exciting moment. It meant so much because of the tough season we were having.
Goals while at SKLZ:
I hope to gain a better understanding of the corporate world, learn how to apply myself to different jobs, and gain firsthand experience of marketing, sales research, finance activities and the research and development side of business.
Favorite athletes:
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, Kobe's probably my favorite but Michael was just a little better and undeniably the best ever.

Alex Reynolds
Senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, studying Business Administration with a Marketing concentration and a Communication Studies minor
Sports Background:
As a kid I played every sport under the sun. I played basketball, volleyball, and surfed on my high school teams and I currently play volleyball for the Cal Poly Men's Volleyball team. Along with volleyball, surfing is probably my favorite sport. I have been surfing since I was 10 years old and I have traveled all over the world to surf including, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Hawaii. It is one of my favorite activities and I try to go almost every day. My passion for sports has also allowed me to share my enthusiasm through jobs as a youth volleyball coach, a surf instructor, and a soccer referee. I have also volunteered at the Challenged Athletes Foundation and Association of Amputee Surfers working with disabled athletes.
Highlights of Sporting Career:
Winning a CIF volleyball championship in high school. Out team lost in the CIF finals my junior year by two points in the 5th game and then came back to win it all my senior year. Although I was a regular starter during the season I got really sick at the end of the season and missed a month of action, including the playoffs and championship. I was still really sick, but my coach let me go in and serve for one point during the championship match and that was really cool.
Goals while at SKLZ:
I hope that SKLZ can improve my marketing skills. I want to be able to utilize and build upon what I am learning in school in a fun, sports-centered environment.
Favorite Athletes:
Dane Reynolds and Phillip Rivers
Vince Sarkisian
Senior at University of Michigan, studying Informatics
Sports Background:
I grew up playing basketball, baseball, and soccer. During high school I was on the varsity swim and surf team.
Highlight of Sporting Career:
During my senior year I made it to the finals of an ISF surf contest and ended up finishing 4th overall out of over 250 surfers.
Goals while at SKLZ:
This summer I hope to further advance my professional skills and take with me the attitude of the entire SKLZ team.
Favorite Athletes:
Philip Rivers and Mick Fanning
Francesca Horton
Senior at Cathedral Catholic High School in Del Mar
Sports Background:
I grew up playing volleyball in middle school and playing tennis in my free time and weekends with my Dad.
Highlight of Sporting Career:
It would have to be when I made my high school tennis team as a junior and we completed a very successful season.
Goals while at SKLZ;
I hope to learn all about how a successful business runs and how it expands to international markets.
Favorite Athlete:
Derek Jeter from the New York Yankees because he has taught me that anything is possible with hard work and dedication.
Stephanie Liuag
Senior at UCLA, studying Business Economics with a minor in Accounting
Sports Background:
I ran track in high school, the 400m and 4X400m. I attempt to play golf from time to time, but I could definitely use a bit more time at the driving range. Even though I didn't play any other sports my friends played baseball, basketball, and football and my sister played soccer so I spent a lot a time supporting all of them. I have season tickets to football and basketball games at UCLA which I love attending. GO BRUINS!
Highlight of Sporting Career:
It has to be the first track meet I ever ran at; running in front of all my teammates and family made me so nervous that I didn't think I would run the time my coach had set for me, but I guess the jitters helped because I ended up running my fastest time.
Goals while at SKLZ:
Not only do I hope to meet a lot of amazing people, but also I'm looking forward to applying what I learned in the classroom to real world situations. I also want to learn how a business operates on a day-to-day basis, and learn how different departments interact. I plan to become a CPA after graduating and hope that this internship will give me some insight into what field of accounting I would like to work in as a long-term career.
Favorite Athlete:
I love to watch Kevin Durant from the OKC Thunder, so young and so much skill! Darren Sproles is another athlete I like to watch, it's amazing how much speed comes from such a small person.
