CARLSBAD, CA, Dec 28, 2011 -SKLZ, the leading manufacturer of athletic training tools and programs is sponsoring the 12th annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Additionally, SKLZ will be the title sponsor and facilitator for the SKLZ National Combine on Friday prior to the game.
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is an invite-only football game for the nation's top senior high school football players. Of around 400 nominees, 90 U.S. Army All-Americans are ultimately selected to play in the annual East versus West showdown. The bowl game is played annually at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and will be broadcast live on January 7, 2012 on NBC at 12:00pm CST.
"SKLZ is committed to building great athletes and the All American Bowl is a place where greatness gathers," said John Sarkisian, CEO of SKLZ. "These players are the best of the best in high school football and we are excited to be part of the week's events."
On Friday January 6th, over 500 athletes will gather and display their abilities during the SKLZ National Combine. The combine gives the nation's top football players an opportunity to quantify their athleticism and compare their results with other elite athletes. In addition to running the combine, SKLZ will also be providing an unmatched training experience for the athletes. The training experience will include product demonstrations and instruction on functional fitness from its partner, Athletes' Performance, the leading trainer of elite athletes, including top NFL combine participants. To conclude the day's events, SKLZ will be recognizing the top performers for the day.
"These athletes have worked hard to get to this game, but their football careers have only just begun," said Tom Quinn, president of SKLZ. "While they may be the best of the best in high school football, they also understand they must improve to excel at the next level. With the proper tools and instruction, they will be able to unlock their potential."
SKLZ's involvement with All American Games extends beyond the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and National Combine. SKLZ is also the Official Training Partner for the Eastbay Youth Bowl Game and National Combine, U.S. Army National Selection Tour, Coaches Academy, USA vs. Canada Youth Game, National Youth Coaches Convention, State vs. State Games, and the 40-city Football University Tour, including Top Gun, the nation's premier 7-on-7 event.
About the All American Bowl
The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is the premier high school football game in the country. The Bowl features the nation's most elite football players and marching band musicians, and has honored more than 1,000 Army Strong Soldier Heroes since its inception. It has been a launching pad for college and NFL stars such as Adrian Peterson, Mark Sanchez, Ndamukong Suh, Tim Tebow, Andrew Luck and Marcus Lattimore. The U.S. Army All-American Bowl has produced almost 1,000 NCAA athlete alumni, and more than 180 alumni currently play in the NFL.
