SKLZ Signs Rich Hill, Troy Buckley and Megan Willis as Brand Ambassadors

Collegiate coaches, fast pitch star share skill development expertise through SKLZ

CARLSBAD, CA - May 23, 2012 - SKLZ, the global leader in athletic skill and performance training products proudly expands its Brand Ambassador Program with the signing of University of San Diego head baseball coach Rich Hill, Long Beach State head baseball coach Troy Buckley and professional softball catcher Megan Willis. As SKLZ ambassadors they will play instrumental roles in helping build on SKLZ's mission of empowering athletes of all levels to elevate their games through the development of authentic instructional content and programs unique to their sports.

"These ambassadors know what it means to elevate your game; they live it every day and have seen the results of their efforts both on and off the field. Their knowledge, commitment and proven successes are exactly what the SKLZ Ambassador Program is about" said SKLZ VP of marketing, Greg Shoman. "We are proud to have them on board as not only voices of our brand, but also as partners when creating new tools, instruction and programs."

In his 14th year leading USD's baseball team, which is currently ranked 19th in the Collegiate Baseball top-30 poll, Coach Hill has built the Toreros into one of the most successful Division 1 baseball programs on the West Coast. Hill's sustained levels of athletic achievement demonstrate what dedication and determination can bring to an athlete's table when he trains hard. Aspiring baseball stars can already learn from Coach Hill on SKLZ.com by watching his 10-part training series entitled "Keys to Being a Successful Infielder."

"The competition gets better each and every day so instruction should too," said Hill. "I'm excited to work with SKLZ and take the knowledge I've acquired through the years and share it with the baseball community at large."

North from San Diego along Southern California's coast, Long Beach State's Coach Troy Buckley will help SKLZ's baseball community perfect its pitching game. Regarded as one of the best pitching coaches in the sport, Buckley oversaw the development of elite pitchers such as Jared Weaver and Jason Vargas. In 2004 Weaver was named the National Player of the Year after posting a 15-1 record with 213 strikeouts and a 1.62 ERA under the instruction of Buckley. A key contributor to SKLZ's baseball content, Buckley will share his trade secrets to improve ball delivery from the mound.

"It takes dedication to improve something as comprehensive as an entire squad's performance or as specific as throwing mechanics in baseball," said Buckley. "SKLZ reinforces this commitment to excellence in our sport and gives me a platform to share my expertise with the next generation of players."

In National Pro Fastpitch, professional catcher Megan Willis has earned two league championships and currently guards home plate for the USSSA Florida Pride. As a collegiate player at University of Texas, Willis posted school records for fielding percentage (.994) and putouts (2,028) and gunned down 59 would-be base stealers in her career. On SKLZ.com, Megan has already rolled out a six-part training series on "Catching Mechanics" and is a regular contributor on SKLZ's fastpitch Facebook channel, engaging aspiring athletes of all ages.

She will continue to contribute many more skill-specific and performance training videos as a SKLZ Ambassador, as well as ongoing insider access into her life as a professional catcher.

"Being the best means being a role model to young female athletes just as much as it means setting records and winning titles," said Willis. "SKLZ has given me the ability to share my knowledge behind the plate as well as detail the mental fortitude and perseverance needed to become a successful female athlete."

SKLZ baseball and softball training products are available at sporting goods retailers nationwide and online at SKLZ.com. SKLZ provides online instructional content from its brand ambassadors free of charge to help athletes of all levels improve their game.
