SKLZ Invites Attendees at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day To Take The Hinged Club Challenge

CARLSBAD, CA - SKLZ, the industry leader in sports skill development products and equipment, invites PGA Merchandise Show Demo Day attendees to take the "Hinged Club Challenge" from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Demo Day on Wednesday, January 26 at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.

During the "Hinged Club Challenge" the new SKLZ Refiner Pro Graphite hinged training driver will be taking on the competition in a head-to-head challenge. Participants in the challenge will have the opportunity to try the newly introduced Refiner Pro Graphite and see how it compares to competitive products. SKLZ will be filming the event and participants who are included in the video will receive a free SKLZ Power Wedge.

"We are so confident in the performance of our new Refiner Pro Graphite hinged training driver that we are willing to publicly challenge our competition at the PGA Show Demo Day," said Greg Shoman, vice president of marketing, SKLZ. "We feel that this is by far the best and most responsive hinged driver available and we want to see more golfers experience this for themselves during the challenge."

The new Refiner Pro Graphite is the ONLY hinged training club with a graphite shaft. The graphite shaft more accurately provides the weighting and feel of a real driver which allows the feel of the swing to translate into your own club perfectly. It features a patented, two-way adjustable hinged design that allows you to maintain a proper swing plane and steady tempo. It gives instant feedback on tempo, timing, swing plane and clubhead position. Swinging too quickly or off-plane will cause the hinge to break and not allow you to hit the ball.

The SKLZ Power Wedge is designed to aid in proper weight transfer and timing during the golf swing and can be used with all clubs. The Power Wedge is a compact device that is positioned underneath the golfer's right heel, and emits a properly sequenced "click" sound as the club passes through impact when the golfer correctly shifts his or her weight to their front foot. As with a normal wedge, The Power Wedge prevents swaying back to avoid an off-balance ball strike, but its unique auditory feedback also helps synchronize the legs, hips and arms.

In addition to the "Hinged Club Challenge", SKLZ also invites Demo Day participants to attend a SKLZ presentation on Integrated Golf Training Programs given by PGA Instructor, Rick Smith and Mark Verstegen of Athletes Performance. The presentation will take place at 10:00 am at the demo day main pavilion.

Achieving great success in golf as a teacher, designer and communicator, Rick Smith is regarded as one of the PGA Tour's best sounding boards for swing advice, Since 2000, Rick has been consistently ranked as one of the top ten golf instructors in the world by Golf Digest.  Rick also currently operates Rick Smith Golf Academies at The Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan, and The Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida. Rick brings his passion for instruction to the SKLZ brand where he has been integral in the development of a complete line of SKLZ training products.

Mark Verstegen is the President and Founder of Athletes' Performance, the industry leader in performance training for elite athletes with five world-class training facilities across the United States.  Athletes' Performance has trained many of the top champions in sport, including the last five #1 overall NFL draft picks, the German National Soccer Team, and countless champions in football, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf, basketball, and hockey. Mark is also an author who has written five books through the Core Performance brand.

SKLZ will be exhibiting at the PGA Merchandise Show on January 27 - 29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The full line of SKLZ golf training aids will be displayed at the Equipment Test Center in Hitting Bays #30 and #31 in the Orange County Convention Center and on the driving range at the demo day. Attendees will have the opportunity to check out the latest training aids including the new Refiner Pro Graphite hinged training driver, Quickster 8' net, and the Gold Flex warm-up and tempo training aid.
