The SKLZ product catalog has grown significantly over the last couple years, adding both skill development tools and athletic performance products in several sport categories. While skill development and athletic performance are the bread and butter of training, we were missing something--a way for athletes to gauge whether or not the training was working. Aside from timing a 40 yard dash, an individual athlete has very little at their disposal to benchmark their training progress.
Enter the Sport Radar. A multi-sport speed detection tool that can instantly detect the speed of balls and pucks.
Unlike a radar gun, which must be manned, the Sport Radar sits behind a net or backstop and records a whole session of throws, kicks, hits or shots. In addition to displaying the latest recordable speed, it also records average session speed and top speed.
Athletes everywhere can now begin to answer their own question. Is all this hard work translating to a better performance?
The Sport Radar will be available in October 2012 and will be followed by more performance measurement tools in the areas of swing speed (baseball, softball and cricket bats) and vertical jump.
