Nomar was someone that everyone in Boston loved and admired. He was classy, supported community organizations on a daily basis, and worked his tail off every time he took the field.  He ALWAYS ran out ground balls. And for about a 3 year stretch it seemed that he NEVER made an out, and hit a rope to left field in every at bat. I'm pretty sure he never struck out and only got out because he hit the ball into someone's glove. You never missed a Nomar at bat.

Nommaaaahhhhh retired today from baseball.

The smear campaign against him before he left town represented everything wrong with sports, while he always represented everything right about sports. And is still taking the high road. 

If it were not for two ankle and wrist injuries, he'd be walking into Cooperstown on the first ballot.
