SKLZ Team Member Joe Mauer signed a $184 million dollar 8-year contract with his hometown Minnesota Twins this week.  In doing so, Joe once again proved that he is not like most other athletes.

It's pretty much undetstood that if Joe had played out his 2010 season and tested the free agent market he would have cashed in for about 10 years and $250 million with a Boston, New York, L.A., etc.  We're not trying to say that Joe is going to make chump change, but this is one of the rare moments where we can say that an athlete left money on the table and did what is right for himself, his family, and the fans.  We applaud Joe and invite all sports fans to do so.  We need more like him.
