SKLZ is proud to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation and their Million Dollar Challenge bike ride to raise funds for athletes with physical disadvantages. This year SKLZ has two riders that will be participating in the ride, CEO John Sarkisian and VP of Sales Mike Carlson. Today they took on a gruelling 114 mile trek from Big Sur to Pismo Beach.

Today was tough but 114 miles later they made it to their destination. The route from Big Sur to Pismo beach provided spectacular views and some very strenuous hills. Many riders including Mike Carlson, left as the sun came up because they knew it was a tough day ahead. The morning fog was a challenge, as you couldn't see more than 10 feet ahead. However, as they rolled into lunch at San Simeon Beach they were once again greeted with sunshine and warm weather. On top of that, tailwinds helped them make their way through the last 60 miles of the ride into Pismo Beach.

Riders had a couple special guests with them on the ride today. Two up and coming Garmin team riders joined will be riding with them for two days.

Million Dollar Challenge riders also crossed paths with the Relay Runners. We got a chance to catch up with the CAF Relay Team and see how everything has been going. Runners mentioned a couple challenges they had faced in the past couple days but were beyond excited about the epic journey that they have been a part of.

On days like this we are reminded of just how important training and nutrition is on our bodies. If you don't properly stretch, drink enough water, or eat enough food your body will simply not be able to handle the tasks at hand. Each cyclist and runner on this trip understands that a variety of factors affect your performance and it's important to take all of them into account to do their best.

Mike enjoyed a well-deserved cookie on his ride. :)
