Job Description: Consumer Experience Specialist/In-Field Brand Building/Technical Sales RepHours: Full-time, at will, non-exempt. Overview: Co-develops and manages sales and marketing strategies for an assigned territory, ensuring authentic SKLZ insights and presence “in the field” in order to create brand visibility and excitement. Includes account-specific sales, marketing and management responsibilities for that territory.
Responsibilities:
- Work with corporate buyers, analysts, executive management, customer service, retail store managers and floor sales staff to insure SKLZ products across all categories are well represented and the SKLZ story is well understood by retail partners’ employees.
- Ensure sell-in and sell-through of SKLZ and other Pro Performance Sports items. Execute brand initiatives with in-store training and retail presentation focusing on major retail partners and key team/specialty customers.
- Create and conduct dynamic educational clinics covering all SKLZ categories. Conduct effective in-store training visits, collaborating with customer in-store and management teams to identify product development, promotional, and merchandising opportunities based on assortment and SKLZ brand direction and initiatives. Increase Sales Associate and Management product knowledge and selling skills thru coaching and training clinics.
- Manage specified Tier I-III accounts in partnership with the VP of Sales, Director of Sales, and U.S. Specialty Channels Sales Manager to consistently reflect the latest SKLZ items are placed at retail and selected team/specialty customers, SKLZ item sales are being analyzed and managed and replenishment orders are maintained and managed within assigned territory.
- Execute brand initiatives and implement seasonal product and service/selling plans. Create and implement education plans thru effective use of samples, training tools, SKLZ websites and SKLZ Tech Vehicle.
- Create energy and passion for the brand by sharing and promoting the SKLZ story, brand and products.
- Educate and promote the SKLZ brand and products at specific events (example: Spring Training, local Baseball/Golf/Soccer tournaments, Physical Education Teachers conferences, etc). Provide support at consumer and/or trade events such as Expos, Sport Marketing events, SKLZ and/or account sponsored events, etc.
- Utilize local market knowledge to facilitate relevant consumer focus group meetings as part of product and/or category feedback process and perform research to identify initiative wins/opportunities, current market trends, and competitor information.
- Deepen relationships with local influencers/coaches.
- Work with the director of sales to establish an Account and Category Focus Reporting schedule that is reflective of PPS objectives. Complete and communicate week/month-end and seasonal reports as assigned. Maintain 30-60-90 day calendar that outlines activities, goals, and objectives. Manage budgets and expenditures.
- Provide relief and/or back-up on other sales and marketing initiatives (photo shoots, appearances, other grassroots events, etc).
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years work experience in retail (service, marketing, operations, merchandising, selling, analysis) or 2 additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational, presentation and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation, selling and presentations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at one time
- Ability to motivate and mentor others as the program grows
- Strong knowledge of athletic industry and trends in the marketplace, preferably baseball/softball, golf and other team sports

Job Description: Sales Manager-US Regional Customers & Team Specialty Channels
Hours: Full-time, at will, exempt position.
Overview: This position will be responsible for selling to Mid-Tier Mass Sporting Goods Retail, Specialty Retail Chains, Catalog/Internet Accounts, Wholesale Distributors and Buying Groups. The candidate will identify, evaluate and develop new sales and product opportunities within the marketplace. This position will contribute to the development of the annual strategic sales plan and will be responsible for managing a group of manufacturer representatives in the various specialty categories. Position located in San Diego with potentially significant travel (25% of time).
Responsibilities:
- Provide sales and marketing direction and customer support while building solid sales relationships with new and existing Mid-Tier Mass Sporting Goods Retail, Specialty Retail Chains, Catalog/Internet Accounts, and Buying Group Organizations, and Team Dealers.
- Establish channel development strategies and initiate implementation of plan.
- Prioritize hot markets and selling targets.
- Identify and manage the US Regional & Specialty Channel trade show schedule, including but not limited to: the buying group trade shows, industry end-user shows, booths at fairs, and league/organization booths.
- Generate monthly and annual sales forecasts. Work very closely with Business Analyst.
- Complete all required reports on time (Sales Meeting Recaps, Monthly Bullets).
- Domestic sales responsibility.
- Develop, manage and lead the outside sales personnel in each category as needed.
- Develop, manage and lead inside sales personnel and customer service.
- Position reports to Vice President – Sales.
- Supervisorial responsibilities include: managing Customer Service Representatives, managing Web/Catalog Sales Manager (pending position), managing outside PPS sales representatives for specified customers, and working closely with regional SKLZ Consumer Experience Specialists.
Skills Required:
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Broad technical and market knowledge in the sports products industry
- Must have a sales background in Team Sports/Hard Goods/Specialty Retail Chains.
- 7+ years professional Sales/Marketing Experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of territory management, marketing strategy, brand development and merchandising.
- Strong analytical and strategic skills with ability to identify and solve complex multi-variable problems with clear, irrevocable logic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to navigate through computer software.
